Key Specs That Matter
- Gauge pressure range: R-32 systems can hit 520+ PSI on the high side during ambient temps above 95°F. Minimum rating: 800 PSI.
- Hose compatibility: R-32 is mildly flammable (A2L classification). Use rated R-32 hoses — standard R-410A hoses technically work but lack the 800-PSI burst rating.
- Gauge accuracy: ±1% FS is the standard. Anything wider is a liability on charge-weight-sensitive R-32 systems.

- Never vent R-32 — mildly flammable (ASHRAE A2L). Always recover.
- Charge by weight — R-32 systems have very tight tolerances. A digital scale is mandatory.
- Use a vacuum pump rated for A2L — R-32's lower boiling point means deeper vacuum (500 microns or lower).
- Leak test with nitrogen — R-32 leaks are invisible and odorless. Pressure test at 600 PSI before evacuation.
